Our Timeline

Two decades and counting of iconic Cape Town establishments.

2002 - THE BIRTHPLACE

On 22 December, Paranga opens on the iconic Camps Bay strip, the premier flagship restaurant in the Kove Collection.

2005 - CAPE TOWN SKY-HIGH

Antique & The Butterfly Bar open on the Absa Building’s 31st floor, offering unparalleled views of Cape Town until 2007.

2006 - PEPÉNERO OPENS

Pepénero opens in Mouille Point (now Bobo's), an immediate hit with Cape Town locals and tourists alike.

2008 - NEW HORIZONS

The original Bungalow and The Kove restaurants open in Camps Bay, expanding the collection along the strip.

2011 - THE FIRST BOUTIQUE HOTEL

The Alphen Boutique Hotel & Spa opens in Constantia, along with la Belle Bistro & Patisserie, 5 Rooms (now Blanko) & The Rose Bar (now Incognito).

2011 - CLIFTON RELOCATION

The Bungalow moves to the scenic Clifton reserve, bringing world-class views and luxury to a one-of-a-kind setting.

2011 - FUSION OF FLAVOURS

The Kove and old Bungalow venue merge to create Zenzero, offering a live-fire, beachfront dining experience.

2013 - A NEW HOTEL FOR CAMPS BAY

The Marly opens as an 11-room boutique hotel & spa, with Umi restaurant and la Belle Camps Bay.

2015 - VIBRANT V&A ENCOUNTER

Dalliance opens at The Waterfront, offering a lively and engaging dining atmosphere until 2018.

2017 APRIL - COASTAL NEIGHBOURHOOD GEM

Lily’s opens in Mouille Point, a buzzing neighbourhood eatery on the popular Mouille Point promenade.

2017 SEPTEMBER - WATERFRONT SEAFOOD DINING

Firefish opens at the Waterfront, inviting guests to savour seafood delights by the harbour until 2022.

2017 NOVEMBER - TWIN DELIGHTS

Bilboa and Chinchilla open – a premium restaurant and a rooftop cocktail bar with the best views in Camps Bay.

2018 - BOBO'S EVOLUTION

Pepénero becomes Bobo’s, maintaining its allure with refreshed energy and decor and culinary delights.

2019 - THE MARLY GROWS

The Marly Hotel extends to 38 rooms, introducing a resort-wear boutique experience for guests and fashion lovers.

2019 - A ROOFTOP LOUNGE & POOL

Baptiste opens on The Marly rooftop, a cocktail lounge and swimming pool with 360-degree ocean and Table Mountain views.

2019 - SURFERS' HAVEN

Umi transforms into Surfshack, haven of laidback luxury for surf culture and foodies alike.

2020-2021 - WITHSTANDING THE STORM

COVID impacts operations, but we hold the fort and come out stronger.

2022 – SONNY & IRENE BECOMES THE TALK OF SEA POINT

Bringing high-end design and fresh culinary concepts to the Collection, Sonny & Irene opens on the groundfloor of Station House.

2022 – TAKE ME TO THE NINES

The Nines opens in the 9th-floor penthouse of Station House – a premium rooftop restaurant and cocktail lounge boasting 275-degree views.
